Job Description:

The University of New Mexico - Hospitals is seeking a highly motivated and organized Pharmacy Technician III to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications to patients.

About the Position:

The Pharmacy Technician III will be responsible for performing a range of pharmacy-related tasks, including receiving and processing medication orders, verifying accuracy, and preparing medications for dispensing. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process medication orders, verify accuracy, and prepare medications for dispensing
  • Assist licensed pharmacists with clinical and administrative tasks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medication inventory, storage, and dispensing
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve medication-related issues and concerns

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
  • 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) certification in New Mexico within 60 days of hire
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language proficiency preferred

Estimated Salary Range:$54,115 - $63,488 per year based on experience
