Job Overview

As a key member of our Meat department, you will engage in various product preparation tasks, maintain cleanliness, and ensure stock availability while delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
  • Execute a range of duties including cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, processing, trimming, tenderizing, sealing, packaging, wrapping, bagging, pricing, prefabricating, dating, labeling, scaling, merchandising, and serving customers, all in alignment with company policies.
  • Accurately maintain and update department temperature logs.
  • Safely stock and display meat products in accordance with company standards.
  • Assess product quality, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in sales areas, backrooms, and coolers.
  • Organize carts, tools, and supplies in designated areas.
  • Ensure floors are clean, safe, and free from clutter.
  • Foster positive customer and associate relations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Assist in unloading trucks, sorting orders, and placing items in appropriate cooler locations.
  • Wash and sanitize equipment following company and health department guidelines.
  • Make a welcoming impression on customers.
  • Serve customers promptly and cheerfully; greet them and provide high-quality food products.
  • Contribute to increasing store sales and profits in collaboration with retail operations and marketing initiatives.
  • Exhibit promptness, tact, calmness, courtesy, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly regarding the maintenance of a harassment-free and inclusive work environment.
  • Must be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
  • Experience working with various cleaning solutions, safely using sharp tools, and operating specific equipment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to handle stressful situations with tact and composure, making a positive impression on both associates and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in meat preparation or similar food handling roles.
  • Demonstrated dependability and integrity in past work experiences.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations concerning employment practices, safety, and food handling.
