We are seeking a skilled Registered Pharmacist to join our team at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for compounding and dispensing medications, providing drug information to healthcare professionals and patients, and supervising pharmacy aides and other personnel.
Key Responsibilities:- Compound and dispense medications and other pharmaceutical supplies
- Provide drug information to physicians, other professional personnel, patients, and their families
- Supervise and check the work of pharmacy aides, non-registered pharmacists, and other personnel
- Monitor drug profiles for contraindications, incompatibilities, allergic reactions, and dosing errors
- Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records as required by law and pharmacy policies
- Instruct patients upon discharge regarding proper use of medications
- Graduate from an approved School of Pharmacy
- Current license to practice as a registered pharmacist in N.Y.S
- Completion of 1 year Pharmacy internship
- Ability to bend, stretch, and reach necessary for handling/fingering labels, vials, and apparatus used for compounding medications
- Verbal ability to interpret and understand written prescriptions, formularies, and reference texts
