Housekeeping Specialist

At Northwestern Medicine, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and a positive work environment. As a Housekeeping Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

• Clean and maintain patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas daily, ensuring a high level of cleanliness and organization.
• Follow established policies and procedures for patient isolation and contact precautions, ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
• Stock and maintain supplies in assigned areas, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for daily operations.
• Maintain cart and equipment in clean, working condition, and store them in designated areas.
• Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to management, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting ways to improve processes and services.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless operations and excellent patient care.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; or one year of environmental services, housekeeping, or related experience.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, communicate effectively, and work independently.
• Preferred: Three years of environmental services experience in a healthcare or hospitality environment.
