Job Title: Med-Surg RN Travel Job

TLC Nursing is seeking a skilled Med-Surg RN to join our team of healthcare professionals for a travel nursing job in a medical-surgical setting.

Job Description:

The Med-Surg RN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients with a wide range of conditions, such as post-operative patients, acute illnesses, and chronic health conditions.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Med-Surg RN is required, with a strong background in patient assessment, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring.

The Med-Surg RN will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment plans, and maintain a safe and clean environment in the unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and monitor the physical, emotional, and educational needs of patients
  • Administer medications, including IV therapy and blood products
  • Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures
  • Monitor and interpret vital signs
  • Document patient care in the medical record
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment in the unit
Qualifications:
  • Current RN license
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Med-Surg RN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in high-stress situations
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
