Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for delivering nursing care based on the nursing process, which encompasses assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Key duties include executing appropriate nursing interventions, administering medications and treatments as per physician directives, and adhering to established nursing protocols.

Care is provided in alignment with defined patient care standards and evidence-based nursing practices.


Expectations:

The nurse will take initiative in acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills pertinent to patient care within the designated practice area.

They will conduct thorough assessments and critically analyze patient conditions to determine the need for standard, urgent, or emergent interventions.

Additionally, the nurse will develop and/or adjust care plans utilizing assessment data, established care standards, and evidence-based practices, which include nursing care coordination, patient and family education, and discharge planning.

Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care is essential.

Ethical considerations will be integrated into nursing practice, ensuring that patient autonomy, dignity, and rights are upheld.

Medications, IV therapy, and treatments will be administered in strict compliance with organizational policies and procedures.


Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution
- Active Registered Nurse Licensure in Kentucky (KY) or eNLC licensure with multistate privileges in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior nursing experience in Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Cardiac, Emergency, or Critical Care settings.
