Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Cummins in Mishawaka, IN. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for engine repairs and maintenance for our Distribution Business.

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

• Intermediate level: Completes complex internal engine repairs, performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision
• Advanced level: Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools, larger more complicated engine rebuilds, mentor junior technicians

Preferred qualifications include an Apprentice Trained Engine Technician certification, vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution, and a locally valid driving permit. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions.

Cummins engine experience is preferred but not necessary. This position will be part of the FTA pool and is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
