We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to join our team as a Traveling Director of Nursing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the functions for the nursing department at our facilities in Orwell, Conneaut, Geneva, and Madison.

The Director of Nursing will assume the primary role in ensuring the delivery of high quality, efficient nursing care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the delivery of high quality, efficient nursing care
  • Carrying out resident care policies established by the facility
  • Setting and monitoring achievement of goals and objectives for the nursing department
  • Recruiting and hiring qualified nursing staff
  • Establishing and implementing competency/skills checklists for nursing staff
  • Preparing and assuring adherence to an annual operating budget for the nursing department
  • Maintaining and guiding the implementation of current policies and procedures
  • Assuring compliance with resident rights policies and resolving resident grievances
  • Establishing and monitoring compliance with an effective medical record documentation system
  • Establishing and maintaining productive lines of communication with residents and families, internal staff and external community
  • Preparing and submitting reports on nursing department operations
  • Actively participating in the quality improvement process for the facility
  • Scheduling, directing and documenting regular meetings with nursing staff
