Patient Access Services Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at Unity Health. This is a management-level position that requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of patient access services.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the operations and staff of Patient Access Services areas
- Prioritize and coordinate patient call flow in the Pre-Encounter Unit
- Ensure the smooth operation of date of service "Express Check-in" functions
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures for patient information, way-finding, office management, call distribution, patient pre-registration, registration, financial screening and patient check-in processes
- Perform and supervise quality assurance and process improvement activities
- Manage employee performance to meet or exceed quality and productivity standards
- Maintain excellent working relationships with interdepartmental peers, clinical departments, community providers and staff
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Computer proficiency required, with a work record that demonstrates knowledge of hospital and access management processes, leadership in the core values of the organization, clear and effective communication skills, a mature approach to problem-solving, skills in using mainframe and PC computers, knowledge of medical terminology, and detail orientation
- Ability to accurately type 25-30 words per minute and pass a clerical examination
- Previous experience in hospital admissions, business office, and/or physician's office preferred
This position requires sitting, standing, walking, and moderate lifting of 20-25 pounds. The individual must also have good visual and hearing discrimination, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent fine motor movement and manual dexterity.
This is a full-time position, working 8:30 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday, with on-call alternating weekends. The individual must be able to work 40 hours per week and maintain a high level of productivity and quality in their work.
