Salary and Benefits
">We offer an attractive salary of approximately $425,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision plans, as well as pension, 403(b), 457, and structured portfolio investment plans.
Job Responsibilities
">As a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist, you will be responsible for:
- Performing comprehensive examinations of the visual system to determine the nature or extent of ocular disorders.
- Testing patient vision.
- Performing ophthalmic surgeries such as cataract, entropion/ectropion repair, ptosis repair, glaucoma, refractive, corneal, vitro-retinal, eye muscle, laser trabeculoplasty, laser iridotomy, strabismus, and oculoplastic surgeries.
- Diagnosing or treating injuries, disorders, or diseases of the eye and eye structures, including the cornea, sclera, conjunctiva, or eyelids.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of health professionals to provide optimal patient care.
- Prescribing ophthalmologic treatments or therapies, such as chemotherapy, cryotherapy, and low vision therapy.
- Prescribing corrective lenses, such as glasses and contact lenses.
- Prescribing assistive medical devices or related treatments.
- Conducting clinical or laboratory-based research in ophthalmology.
- Evaluating equipment, such as Humphrey visual field, OCT-ocular coherence topography, Fundas camera, IOL master, Yag laser, SLT laser, Argon laser, corneal topography, and Goldman visual field.
- Managing a patient load of up to 28 patients per day, with 70% being diabetic, having glaucoma, and over 65 years old.
Requirements and Qualifications
">To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited program.
- Completion of an accredited ophthalmology residency program.
- Fellowship or substantial experience in ophthalmology.
- 0-3 years of experience in ophthalmology.
- Appropriate licenses and certifications.
