As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with various environmental regulations and programs, including the Fats, Oils and Greases (F.O.G.) Program, Cross Connection Control (C3) Program, Cut and Cap (C&C) Program, Illicit Discharge Program, and Stormwater (NPDES and Phase II MS4) Program.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct inspections and investigations to identify non-compliance with environmental regulations and programs.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to address non-compliance issues.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and programs.
- Provide education and outreach to citizens and business owners on environmental regulations and programs.
- Prepare and present reports to stakeholders on environmental compliance issues and progress.
- Assist in the development and implementation of environmental policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- Current certification or ability to obtain certification in Cross Connection Control Tester Training, Stormwater Certification, HAZWOPER, FOG I Inspector Training, and FOG II Inspector Training.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies.
The work environment for this position will be outdoors, year-round, in all types of weather. The position may require physical and dirty work on occasion.
