Job Summary

X Energy, LLC is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Lead, Testing to join our Development Testing team. This role provides technical leadership and management support for nuclear technology advancement and testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enact standard processes and best practices associated with technology maturation, test planning, and execution.
  • Support the execution of test activities of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/project requirements.
  • Lead testing activities and provide direction to ensure the convergence of efforts of engineering team members, partners, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality test engineering work products are on schedule and within budget as defined by the Project leadership.
  • Engage universities, private contractors, national labs, and internal X-energy assets to perform experimentation and testing to obtain required useful information.
  • Manage a team who designs and operates testing facilities.
  • Create and implement test plans.
  • Procure material and facilities.
  • Review test output data.
  • Create reports based on findings.
  • Support engineering resources utilization across multiple assignments and ensure qualified engineers are performing assigned work.
  • Help manage test engineering staff by ensuring they are meeting expectations and promoting their professional development.
  • Support high-level decision making and handling complex tasks or problems in areas of operations, product management, technology, or engineering.
  • Assess the quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
  • Offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and construct and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure testing activities are performed in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or nuclear engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Typically, seven plus years of professional experience in engineering after completion of undergraduate study. Graduate degrees typically count as two plus years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware development, testing, and experimentation.
  • Demonstrated experience with design of experiment and test planning.
  • Experience working under a formal quality assurance framework such as ISO 9000, STM, or NQA-1.
  • Leadership experience on hardware and testing-related projects.

Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is: $150,000-$189,750.
