Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
FACILITIES MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Oversees urgent repairs of CNC machinery and plant equipment within Machining and Assembly Operations. Manages team members to ensure they operate with the utmost safety, quality, and productivity. Implements the facility's preventative maintenance strategy. Responsible for the enforcement and interpretation of policies and for the effective operation of designated units. Holds the authority to enforce discipline and recommend hiring or termination decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees and executes all urgent repairs of plant equipment across the facility.
- Directs and completes all preventative maintenance work orders throughout the facility.
- Possesses extensive CNC knowledge within an automotive manufacturing context.
- Manages personnel regarding evaluations, training, and may coordinate external training and communication.
- Ensures all work areas are maintained in a safe and organized manner in accordance with facility standards.
- Required to follow additional instructions and perform other duties as requested by management.
- Reviews work orders to establish work priorities and assigns them to team members accordingly.
- Collaborates with production personnel to schedule repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Coordinates the activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment for repairs or upgrades.
- Assigns preventative maintenance work orders to staff based on priority and skill level.
- Audits completed work orders to confirm proper execution and that equipment is in safe and operational condition.
- Develops and implements enhancements for specific maintenance processes, procedures, and preventative maintenance instructions.
- Maintains discipline among team members and addresses instances of inadequate work performance.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and implements necessary improvements to meet training needs.
- Participates in daily communication meetings with team members to discuss safety, recurring equipment issues, and to delegate tasks.
- Ensures maintenance personnel return tools, parts, and equipment to designated storage areas.
- Conducts audits to verify that maintenance personnel complete necessary 5S activities in their areas of responsibility.
- Adheres to OSHA Safety Standards, including Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, Lockout Tagout, Permit Required Confined Space, Hot Work Permit, Powered Industrial Trucks, P.P.E., and Ergonomics.
- When necessary, engages in training sessions and seminars to learn new technologies and techniques beneficial to job performance.
- Associate's degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance management role.
- 5-7 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- Prior experience in automotive machining manufacturing.
- Experience in managing Preventative Maintenance and Emergency Repair assignments to ensure completion.
- Prior experience in scheduling repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment for optimal operation.
- Experience working with CNC machines and controls, assembly units, and robotic cells.
- Familiarity with 5S Audit processes.
- Experience with OSHA Safety Standards.
- Skills in evaluating, implementing, and arranging relevant training.
