Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified Peace Officer Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement and education, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses related to the Peace Officer Program
  • Lead the skills components of the PPOE program during the academic year
  • Oversee the summer skills program
  • Coordinate with the Minnesota State University Mankato Criminal Justice program for the spring semester skills program at MSUM

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, education, social or behavioral science, or related field

Experience:

  • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in law enforcement

Professional Requirement:

  • POST (Peace Officers Standards and Training Board of Minnesota) eligible, or a Federal licensed agent with the powers of arrest

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to travel to different locations. They will also be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
