Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Staff Electrical Engineer to join our team at Abbott Laboratories. As a Staff Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lay out and construct prototype tools and fixtures required for development purposes.
- Conduct evaluations, tests and analyses related to feasibility and function.
- Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation activities on a variety of products and breadboards.
- Specify and develop measurements for design verification plans, document and tabulate results, and provide engineering test reports.
- Document components and designs with specifications, schematics and mechanical layouts to support document control and release.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering or related engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in the design of embedded PCB assemblies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new design features as part of existing systems.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of sound design principles and practices.
- Documented record of delivering tool engineering information which adds value to management's decision-making process.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable FDA regulations and Company operating procedures, processes, policies and tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced credential or professional certification in a relevant discipline/concentration desired.
- Medical device design experience desired.
- Experience in manufacturing processes and methods desired, especially in the manufacturing of medical devices.
