Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Vehicle Acquisition to join our team at Driveway.

The Senior Manager of Vehicle Acquisition will be responsible for the execution of a strategy centered around the acquisition of high-quality and high-demand used-vehicle inventory.

This position will be part of a team that fosters a culture that facilitates investment-minded and metric-based purchasing decisions based on evaluation of key metrics such as scarcity, days supply, cost to market, and price to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Appraise vehicles, understand vehicle condition, negotiate price, make financially sound purchasing decisions, handle any potential arbitration issues, and ensure timely processing and transport of all purchases.
  • Responsible for understanding and managing key metrics associated with retail trends and participating in the inventory planning process.
  • Works with service facilities to ensure timely inspection, reconditioning, and preparation for sale online.
  • Requires working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, being effective as a self-starter, and working individually.
  • Must be proficient in inventory management systems such as VAuto, Firstlook, and Stockwave.
  • Must be able to buy a high volume of profitable vehicles consistently and meet assigned quotas.
  • Understand market tendencies and the changes to the trends in assigned geographic areas.
  • Ability to utilize technology or travel to participate in meetings with team members and partners.
  • Foster relationships with acquisition sources, transportation vendors, and store leadership.
  • Required to be the expert in all aspects of the purchasing, shipping, selling, and stocking of vehicles.
