Summer Internship in Construction Project Management

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
This is an in-office internship role designed for a proactive individual capable of working both independently and collaboratively within the ICM team. The intern will engage with our Construction Project Management division and should have a foundational understanding of Construction Science principles. This is a practical opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team that includes engineers, project managers, scientists, sales, and business professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Project Management in creating initial cost estimates.
- Develop preliminary construction timelines.
- Collaborate with Design Engineers to finalize design outputs.
- Examine initial plans and specifications.
- Facilitate subcontractor approvals, outline scopes of work, and prepare bid packages.
- Draft initial subcontract agreements for supervisor evaluation.
- Assist in preliminary material and equipment quantity take-offs.
- Order, monitor, and expedite equipment as directed by Project Management.
- Work alongside Project Management to address daily Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Assist Field Staff in tracking external labor hours.
- Occasionally visit job sites to fulfill field engineering duties as required.
- Strive to comprehend complex functional scenarios by focusing on task details.
- Continuously enhance and maintain a broad understanding of technical disciplines relevant to the functional area.
- Utilize subject matter expertise, influence, and process skills to assist internal clients in identifying and addressing their high-priority needs.
Education/Certification Requirements:
- High School Diploma is mandatory.
- Current enrollment in a public or accredited private academic institution, pursuing a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is required.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Project, Procore, and Navisworks is preferred.
