About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Power Transmission Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of power transmission planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive power transmission planning studies using industry-leading software such as PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP/ATP, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP, and Promod.
  • Evaluate regulatory conditions and risks by applying NERC, FERC, and Regional requirements, policies, and procedures, production costing, risk assessment techniques, TPL compliance, and generator interconnection principles.
  • Develop and conduct detailed financial analysis using various computer-based software, providing clients with actionable insights to inform their business decisions.
  • Analyze life-cycle costs by developing and incorporating technical assumptions regarding capital costs, operation and maintenance costs, performance estimates, and economic assumptions and forecasts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the success of our team and the growth of our organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience or Master's Degree in Engineering or Business with 2 years of experience, or PhD in Engineering with 1 year of experience.
  • Prior experience associated with electric utility operations, planning, or consulting, including knowledge of power system planning and operations.
  • Strong computer skills using industry software such as PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP/ATP, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP, and Promod.
  • Ability to execute various transmission system planning studies, analyze complex data, and communicate results effectively to clients.
