Position Summary:

As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the educational environment by effectively managing and instructing students in the absence of the regular teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement lesson plans that align with the established curriculum and the regular teacher's guidelines.
  • Ensure a seamless learning experience by adhering to the provided lesson plans.
  • Facilitate an engaging classroom atmosphere that promotes student participation and minimizes disruptions.
  • Tailor teaching strategies to accommodate the diverse needs of students.
  • Oversee students during various activities, including transitions between classes and during recess.
  • Assign in-class and homework tasks based on the lesson plans provided.
  • For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans that are consistent with the regular teacher's previous instruction.
  • Maintain availability to accept substitute opportunities as they arise.
  • Foster a structured classroom environment that enhances the learning experience.
  • Become familiar with emergency procedures, including fire drills and lockdown protocols.
  • Comply with all school policies and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in utilizing educational technology, including tablets and learning software.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment:

  • Classroom setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to stoop or kneel as necessary.

Benefits:

  • This position does not qualify for benefits due to its part-time nature.
