Virtual Sign Language Interpreter for K-12 Virtual Classrooms

As a Virtual Sign Language Interpreter, you will work with students and teachers in a remote setting, utilizing your American Sign Language (ASL) skills to facilitate equal access to education. Your expertise will be essential in creating an inclusive environment that allows students who are deaf or hard of hearing to thrive.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience working with children and adolescents. Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter is required, with a preference for those holding 4.0 EIPA or RID, ESSE-I/R assessment, or NAD/ACCI assessment certifications. A California State SLI License is also mandatory.

We offer competitive compensation ranging from $35-$45 per hour, making this a highly rewarding opportunity for professionals passionate about education and linguistics.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A strong foundation in ASL, with excellent signing skills
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably 4.0 EIPA or RID, ESSE-I/R assessment, or NAD/ACCI assessment
  • An active California State SLI License
