The Nuclear Medicine Specialist is responsible for conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Nuclear Medicine and/or Nuclear Cardiology, ensuring compliance with established protocols, policies, and procedures while adhering to the A.L.A.R.A. principle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology procedures in accordance with all regulatory guidelines.
- Perform quality control checks as per manufacturer and governmental standards.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of radiation safety practices and the handling of radiopharmaceuticals necessary for conducting Nuclear Medicine examinations.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Completion of a Nuclear Medicine program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Minimum Experience:
No prior experience required.
Licensure/Certification:
Must be either CNMT or NMTCB registered as mandated by law.
Additional Qualifications:
Must hold a BLS certification and possess comprehensive knowledge of radiation safety protocols and radiopharmaceuticals essential for performing and processing Nuclear Medicine examinations.
