About the Role

The Mental Health Technician plays a vital role in the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, and interaction to patients of various ages. This position works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and is responsible for utilizing sound judgment during assessments, observing and documenting changes in patients' appearance, behavior, or ability to work towards treatment plan goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient

Qualifications
  • High School Degree or equivalent preferred; Certified Nursing Assistant required
  • One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred
  • Successful completion of CPR certification and CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention prior to assisting in restraining procedures
