Radiology Trainee

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Trainee to join our team at UNC Health. As a Radiology Trainee, you will assist radiologists in performing fluoroscopic procedures and maintain the safety of patients and technologists.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for procedures: Identify patients using two identifiers and two sources, document pregnancy according to procedure, and note discrepancies in clinical indications for imaging studies.
- Produce diagnostic quality exams: Set technical factors, position patients to achieve optimal images, and complete quality exams with efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain safety: Properly shield patients, minimize repeats, and demonstrate compliance with ALARA principles.
- Assist radiologists: Set up rooms properly for each exam, including proper supplies for radiological studies.
- Maintain competency: Participate in in-service education classes, maintain 'in good standing' status, and stay informed of departmental policy changes.
Requirements:
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- Must be attending an AMA-approved school of radiologic technology.
- Must be a second-level student and in good standing with current curriculum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SPI registry preferred.
Work Environment:
This is a part-time position with a variable work schedule. The work assignment type is onsite, and the location of the job is in Raleigh, NC.
