Electrical Engineer

Akana, a Native American-owned consulting firm, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to perform energy audits, commissioning, and electrical design services for our diverse portfolio of clients across the United States.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide full electrical engineering and design services from conceptual to issue for construction.
- Assist and provide design clarification responses during construction implementation of designs generated by Akana.
- Conduct ASHRAE Level I, 2, and 3 Energy Audits and provide recommended energy conservation measures for electrical equipment and systems.
- Review electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications for constructability and energy efficiency.
- Perform commissioning process as part of a team or independently, including site visits on all types of buildings and power distribution systems.
- Facilitate commissioning functional performance testing of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
- Assist or perform electrical engineering, schematic through final designs.
- EIT preferred; Professional Engineer Registrations preferred.
- Electrical building or utility power distribution and lighting experience.
- Minimum 5+ years' experience.
- Demonstrated CAD and 3D skills, Revit or MicroStation a plus.
- Competent in the use of electrical engineering software, arcflash software a plus.
- Able to problem solve and troubleshoot as needed.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Low and medium voltage experience preferred; controls experience desired.
- Knowledge of motors and power generation.
- Lighting design experience a plus.
