Dental Hygienist Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at East Carolina University. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our dental clinic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and revise patient histories and record patient vital signs
  • Acquaint patients with preventive-oriented practice philosophy
  • Chart existing restorations on new patients and record clinical and present disease
  • Perform thorough oral prophylaxes, including ultrasonic cleaning, scaling, polishing, and flossing
  • Educate patients on plaque removal and control, and provide nutritional guidance
  • Apply topical fluorides and occlusal sealants as needed
  • Make study models and explain treatment alternatives to patients
  • Record treatment performed and other patient information
  • Expose, process, and mount x-rays
  • Aid in chair-side assisting and handle instrument sharpening, sterilization, and maintenance
Requirements:
  • Licensed to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the State of North Carolina
  • CPR certificate and Radiology certification
