About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Host/Hostess to join our team at Madlife Stage & Studios. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive until their departure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting and Seating: Greet incoming and departing guests warmly, escort them to assigned dining areas, present menus, and announce waiter's name.
  • Table Management: Use the Open Table app to seat guests in either the restaurant or patio dining area, assign tables based on party size and server availability, and inform guests of current promotions.
  • Guest Service: Answer patron questions regarding menu items, recommend or suggest items as needed, and manage the flow of guests into the dining, patio, and bar areas.
  • Special Requests: Tend to special guest needs and requests, and observe guests' needs throughout the dining experience to ensure they receive high-quality service.
  • Establishment Protection: Protect establishments and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies.
  • Supporting the Team: Help dining room staff by setting and clearing tables, replenishing water, and serving beverages.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: High school degree or equivalent, or relevant work experience; 1 year+ experience in a full-service restaurant preferred.
  • Guest Relations: Ability to assist guests and possess great guest relations skills, articulate clear greetings and farewells, and understand requests for assistance.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly communicate guests' needs to servers, bussers, managers, etc., and effectively communicate on the telephone.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand/walk and stay focused and alert for extended periods of time, reach, bend, stoop, and wipe.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Desire to help where needed, work as part of a team, and flexibility to work a variety of shifts (days, nights, weekends, and some holidays).
  • Attitude and Skills: Upbeat, outgoing, and positive attitude, ability to work positively and thrive in a fast-paced environment, and passion for providing extraordinary service.
