Project Architect Lead

The San Francisco office of SmithGroup is looking for an experienced Project Architect to lead a team of architects in completing technical documents for complex projects such as senior living, mixed-use, and multi-family developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering systems, code implementation, and jurisdiction review, particularly for residential, skilled nursing facilities, and Type I and Type V construction types.

About the Job Description
This role involves preparing, coordinating, and completing construction documents packages, as well as leading day-to-day construction administration activities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of mentoring junior staff, developing trusted relationships with clients, and participating in recruiting and performance management of staff. They will also meet with owners and user groups to determine program and planning requirements.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of architects in completing technical documents for complex projects
* Prepare and coordinate construction documents packages
* Lead day-to-day construction administration activities, including coordination with the contractor, owner, and consultants
* Mentor junior staff and develop trusted relationships with clients

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent
* Minimum 10 years of professional experience
* Architectural registration required
* LEED AP certification preferred

The estimated salary for this role is around $110,000 annually, based on industry standards and location. However, it may vary based on individual qualifications and experience.
