Position Overview:
As a vital member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the care and outcomes for surgical patients within a progressive academic setting. This position allows you to collaborate closely with attending surgeons, fellow surgery APPs, and nursing staff, contributing to a dynamic healthcare environment.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in educational and research initiatives that enrich the academic clinical landscape. While teamwork is essential, your ability to operate autonomously will be both encouraged and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in patient assessments and management in the Cardiothoracic Surgery department.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Preferred certifications include BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
- Prior experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Cardiothoracic Surgery is mandatory.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in this specialty is required.
- Proficiency in vein harvesting techniques is essential.
