Role Summary:

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for delivering diagnostic imaging services within a clinical or hospital environment, while also managing necessary clerical tasks. This role emphasizes teamwork and aligns with the mission and philosophy of Kaiser Permanente Northwest.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting diagnostic radiological examinations using advanced imaging equipment. This includes routine, emergency, portable, surgical, and fluoroscopic procedures, adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Managing image processing and utilizing the current Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Collaborating with radiologists for film quality assurance and exam clarification as needed.
  • Handling patient transport, filing, and restocking supplies. Responsible for patient registration and scheduling.
  • Participating in an on-call or standby schedule as required. Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: N/A
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Licensure and Certification:
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (Washington) or Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon)
  • Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required at hire
Additional Requirements:
  • Proficient in the daily use of diagnostic imaging equipment and healthcare computer systems.
  • Exhibits strong customer service skills.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all staff.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures for fluoroscopy, DXA, surgical, portable, and routine radiographic exams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in performing general radiographic exams with digital technology within the last three years.
  • Strong organizational skills, including time management, prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to policies and procedures with flexibility.
  • Familiarity with McKesson PACS and EPIC electronic medical records systems.
  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Science or a related field.
