Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Automotive Service Technology courses at Joliet Junior College. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Automotive Service Technology courses, including lecture and laboratory components
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students and the program
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program development
  • Meet with students during office hours to provide additional support
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in Automotive Service Technology
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Automotive Service Technology or a related field
  • Four years of experience in the automotive service industry
  • Expertise in appropriate technologies for instruction
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, colleagues, and administrators
  • Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching at the community college level
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning
  • English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency
  • Demonstrated multicultural competence
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to changing circumstances. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
