We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician - Mineral Processing Specialist to join our team at Geotemps Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out various tasks assigned by the Metallurgical Engineer or Sr. Metallurgical Technician, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities- Sample Receipt and Inventory Management: Receive, weigh, and record samples, ensuring accurate documentation and storage.
- Lab ID and Sample Labeling: Label samples correctly, adhering to established procedures and protocols.
- Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for analysis, following established procedures and guidelines.
- Crushing and Blending: Crush and blend samples as required, utilizing various equipment and techniques.
- Screening and Separation: Screen and separate samples using various methods, including wet and dry screening.
- Assist with Chemical and Metallurgical Analysis: Assist in performing routine chemical and metallurgical analysis, ensuring accurate results and documentation.
- Maintain Laboratory Equipment and Instrumentation: Regularly inspect and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Prior analytical laboratory, chemistry, core handling, or mining experience preferred but not required.
- Skills: Effective communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and basic math skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets and reports.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, and repetitive motion required.
The successful candidate will work in an indoor environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to various chemicals and substances. A respirator will be provided to ensure a safe working environment.
