POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pastry Chef is responsible for crafting fresh baked items daily for our clientele by adhering to recipes, labeling, and properly storing baked goods. This role involves preparing and assembling high-quality food products in a dynamic environment. The Pastry Chef is expected to exemplify the company's values by providing outstanding customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Welcome and engage with customers to address inquiries or concerns in a courteous, service-oriented manner;
  • Organize products in display cases and tables, ensuring they are well-stocked;
  • Assist the team in baking a variety of breads, cookies, and desserts, including traditional pastries;
    Possess knowledge of basic baked goods (cakes, breads, cookies, specialty cakes, etc.) and standard baking equipment; demonstrate the ability to perform advanced baking techniques and multitask effectively;
  • Communicate efficiently with management and the baking team to fulfill and resolve any requests or issues from customers or fellow employees;
  • Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain appropriate stock levels;
  • Uphold standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, and food safety;
  • Restock, arrange, and ensure pricing accuracy while monitoring the rotation of all bakery items and discarding any outdated or spoiled products;
  • Operate various professional baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and blenders;
  • Process food orders in person and via telephone;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Customer Service:
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills. Engage with customers consistently;
  • Enhance the speed and efficiency of service delivery.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Food Handlers Card;
  • Experience in customer service and retail is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands and work conditions listed below represent those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Some requirements may be adjusted to accommodate individuals with disabilities:
  • WALKING: Continuously throughout the shift while moving around the store and handling products.
  • STANDING: Continuously throughout the shift.
  • LIFTING: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
