Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our team at Mérieux NutriSciences. As a trusted partner in the food industry, our mission is to make food systems safer, healthier, and more sustainable.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing samples for processing, maintaining documentation of processes, and facilitating analysis procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of microbiology and laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending
• Pipette sample solutions into tubes or plates according to the analysis process
• Record findings on worksheets for verification
• Prepare media and broth for use in pathogen testing as required
• Sterilize materials needed for analysis
• Perform food poisoning, pH, and other analysis tests on samples when requested by clients
• Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Set up equipment and materials needed for analysis
• Support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes
• Perform necessary housekeeping duties in a timely manner

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ year relevant work experience
• Associates degree required
• Basic knowledge of microbiology and laboratory procedures
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control
