Microbiologist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiologist Specialist to join our team at Compunnel, Inc. as a key member of our manufacturing laboratory.

• Assist with general laboratory duties, including preparation of sterile growth medium, stock solutions, and reagents, as well as general laboratory cleaning and dishwashing.
• Perform aseptic sampling of manufacturing processes.
• Conduct direct microscopy and plating while adhering to clean room protocols.
• Prepare, inoculate, and manage shake flasks using aseptic technique.
• Prepare samples for analysis and analyze samples using various analytical instruments, such as microscopes and spectrophotometers.
• Enter process and analytical data into Microsoft Excel.
• Provide experiment coverage, as needed, on evenings and weekends.
• Participate in safety initiatives within the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 4-year college degree in a science field, such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, or a related field.
• Laboratory experience via academic or prior position(s).
• Capable of independent work, but seeks clarification, as needed, prior to starting tasks to provide deliverables.
• Display good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of standard safe laboratory practices and a commitment to working safely.
• Competency in aseptic culture techniques.

• Experience in the set-up and operation of lab-scale bioreactors.
