Talascend is currently seeking a Defense Accounting Analyst for a contract opportunity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Defense Accounting Analyst for corporate initiatives, particularly in the Amphibious and Autonomous sectors, is essential in steering the team through critical financial choices.
  • Reconcile sub-ledger balances with general ledger accounts.
  • Continuously provide reconciliation of project financial information.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries based on a comprehensive understanding of account movements.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reconciliations in alignment with closing periods.
  • Draft clear and precise month-end commentary against the planned objectives for supported product lines.
  • Collaborate with the Program team to formulate the annual forecast, uphold their Strategic Plan, and Medium-term plan, while maintaining a robust awareness of both opportunities and challenges.
  • Facilitate the creation and upkeep of long-term project and contract profit strategies for the Handling Systems and Amphibious and Autonomous product lines.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, corporate policies, local operating procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Contribute to the overall control environment and process enhancements across the business.
  • Guarantee that legal, statutory, and management financial obligations are fulfilled for the naval sector.
  • Primary interactions will be with Finance and Program Management teams.
  • This role encompasses Naval Programs.
  • The position will support Integrated Product Team leads and the program team.
  • This role will primarily engage with management at the Defense Leadership Team level.
  • Interface with audit agencies and regulatory bodies.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Senior Accountant is advantageous.
