Military Financial Analyst

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Defense Accounting Analyst for corporate initiatives, particularly in the Amphibious and Autonomous sectors, is essential in steering the team through critical financial choices.
- Reconcile sub-ledger balances with general ledger accounts.
- Continuously provide reconciliation of project financial information.
- Prepare month-end journal entries based on a comprehensive understanding of account movements.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reconciliations in alignment with closing periods.
- Draft clear and precise month-end commentary against the planned objectives for supported product lines.
- Collaborate with the Program team to formulate the annual forecast, uphold their Strategic Plan, and Medium-term plan, while maintaining a robust awareness of both opportunities and challenges.
- Facilitate the creation and upkeep of long-term project and contract profit strategies for the Handling Systems and Amphibious and Autonomous product lines.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, corporate policies, local operating procedures, and contractual obligations.
- Contribute to the overall control environment and process enhancements across the business.
- Guarantee that legal, statutory, and management financial obligations are fulfilled for the naval sector.
- Primary interactions will be with Finance and Program Management teams.
- This role encompasses Naval Programs.
- The position will support Integrated Product Team leads and the program team.
- This role will primarily engage with management at the Defense Leadership Team level.
- Interface with audit agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Prior experience as a Senior Accountant is advantageous.
