Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Caregiver and Medication Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will provide hands-on care, physical and emotional support to our residents, while maintaining a safe and comfortable home-like environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care and support to a designated group of residents during the shift, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Observe, report, and document any changes in resident condition, including skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary, and participation in activities.
  • Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells, and notify the supervisor and/or Health Care Coordinator of any increased care needs.
  • Assist with continence management, dispose of continence products properly, and maintain the cleanliness of resident suites and community restrooms.
  • Serve and collect food trays, and report any meal refusals or loss of appetite.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas, and practice good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
  • Help residents maintain independence, promote dignity, and physical safety, and actively participate in and lead activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating, and life skills.
  • Engage residents in life enrichment activities, and greet and assist all internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors, and team members.
  • Perform resident laundry as assigned and needed.
  • Assist with medication administration, review service plans, and maintain confidentiality of resident information, including medication.
  • Document and initial medication administration records, and report any resident concerns to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator.
  • Restock medication carts, assist in checking medication, and maintain the cleanliness of the Medication Room, med charts, and treatment carts.
  • Follow the re-fill process for medications, and participate in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
  • Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates, and report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks, and hazardous chemicals immediately.
Qualifications
  • Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • CPR Certification preferred.
  • First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
