Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Caregiver in Augusta, GA.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide routine and emergency assessments and nursing care to ensure the optimal health status of each individual. The successful candidate will maintain accurate and complete documentation of all health services provided and participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of each individual's service plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform health care procedures and monitoring of consumers' health conditions.
  • Administer medication and assess and monitor the individual's use of medication.
  • Assess and monitor health data and information.
  • Assist individuals in securing emergency medical services and obtaining appropriate medical services.
  • Perform health care procedures ordered/prescribed by a physician/medical practitioner and required by standards of professional practice or law to be performed by licensed nursing personnel.
  • Report significant changes in an individual's health status to the supervisor.
  • Provide delegation as required and in compliance with Board of Nurse Examiners criteria.
  • Provide Comprehensive Nursing Assessments on each individual as required and in compliance with Caregiver, TX BON and HHSC criteria.
  • Provide on-call nursing services for individuals served, including telephone triage as assigned by Supervisor and designated by Area.
  • Document all nursing interventions at the time they are completed in SDLs or Nurses Notes and maintain assigned billing rate in Waiver Services.
  • Monitor individual records to ensure compliance with physicians' orders and appropriateness of nursing interventions.
  • Ensure that all medical consultations and laboratory reports are documented in the consumer's records in a timely manner.
  • Participate in annual and interim planning conferences for individuals served.
  • Recommend individual-training objectives in the areas of health maintenance, oral hygiene and self-administration of medications based on identified individual needs.
  • Assist Case Manager/Support Manager in development of health care training objectives as requested and ensure that staff is knowledgeable in program implementation.
  • Monitor medication storage area to ensure that all medications are stored and labeled properly and that outdated and/or discontinued drugs are removed and disposed of according to standards of practice.
  • Provide in-service training in health-related areas to direct care staff as needed.
  • Respond to emergency calls relative to health and safety of consumers.
  • Serve as member of agency-wide committees as assigned.
  • Complete special assignments and submit written reports within designated time frames.
Requirements:
  • Work harmoniously with coworkers.
  • No more than one documented and substantiated complaint in a six-(6) month period.
  • Conduct self at all times consistent with Caregiver policies.
  • Attend work M-F 8am-5pm, punctually and regularly, and as assigned.
  • Required to drive to and from different locations in own personal vehicle and/or a company vehicle as indicated in order to complete the duties and responsibilities of the job description listed above.
  • Always adhere to Caregiver policies and procedures.
  • Complete all duties in compliance with accepted standards of nursing practice.
  • Conduct self in a manner beneficial to residents.
  • Must be available by phone and email as scheduled; response must be immediate for emergent situations and within minutes for all other calls.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Possession of valid RN license from the Georgia Board of Nurse Examiners or in accordance with the Board of Nurse Examiners rules for Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • At least one-(1) year recent nursing experience as an RN in the months leading up to employment with Caregiver.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of accepted standards of nursing practice and ability to apply knowledge in daily work activities.
  • Ability to drive and have accessibility to a reliable motor vehicle and hold a current license.
  • Ability to communicate with community health care professionals and interpret their recommendations to other staff.
  • Ability to assess individual's health status and to provide appropriate interventions.
  • Ability to organize workload to ensure continuity of care of individuals served.
