Position Summary

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, assisting patients in their recovery journey. Your responsibilities will include performing thorough assessments, creating personalized treatment plans, and conducting therapy sessions aimed at enhancing patients' functional capabilities. Additionally, you will provide education to patients and their families on effective self-management strategies to support ongoing progress after discharge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed evaluations of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing functions to identify patient needs and establish relevant treatment objectives.
  • Develop and execute customized therapy interventions based on evidence-based methodologies.
  • Deliver direct care through individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress in medical records and collaborate with the rehabilitation team to ensure a unified treatment strategy.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication and swallowing techniques.
  • Engage in discharge planning to ensure a seamless transition back to the community.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.

Qualifications

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Active, unrestricted license to practice Speech Therapy in the relevant state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited organization.
Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
  • Proficient in documentation and medical record management.
  • Solid understanding of current trends and best practices in rehabilitation.
