We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team in the Tri-State region. As a Mammography Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality patient care and mammographic images for successful diagnostic of patients for the radiologist.
  • Create a tranquil environment for patients to adhere to examination instructions.
  • Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and assure proper file identification on all images.
  • Demonstrate competency performing all mammographic procedures and the operation of all related equipment.
  • Greet patients, obtain history, and enter information in computer system.
  • Obtain mammographic images according to guidelines.
  • Maintain logs; process paperwork for biopsies.
  • Utilize sterile techniques preventing contamination.
  • Maintain quality standards as it relates to HIPPA regulations.
  • Assist in the completion of the accreditation process for American College of Radiology (ACR) every three years.
  • Observe patient vital signs during examination.
  • Provide coverage as needed.
  • Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires.
  • Provide a positive patient experience.
  • Maintain communication with radiologists and other physicians, patients and their families, and other persons.
  • Consistently submit images of diagnostic quality without recommendation of additional image acquisition.
  • Perform daily QA evaluations.
  • Monthly, quarterly, and yearly QC testing documentation.
  • Perform all mammographic images daily in guidelines to ACR accreditation.
  • Utilize sterile techniques preventing contamination.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Examine radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  • Troubleshoot processor, mammographic machine, and order supplies.
  • Demonstrate a positive patient experience.
  • Ensure a positive experience from the referring providers.
  • Make decisions authoritatively and wisely.
  • Contribute to efficient out-patient Operations.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy.
  • Presents completed examinations to radiologist.
  • Communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of patients following the procedure.
  • Demonstrate teamwork.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) (M) certified.
  • Digital Mammography certified.
  • Demonstrated ability to adequately use, or learn to use, the department's computerized system and its associated devices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine.
  • 1+ years of experience as a general radiologic technologist.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift and carry items weighting up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to lift patients weighting up to 300 pounds and place them in appropriate positions for operation of equipment.
  • Eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and review developed films.

Compensation and Benefits:

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
