Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our Interventional Radiology team at SSM Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing care for adult patients in the Interventional Radiology department.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform on the Interventional Radiology procedure team as circulator, scrub, or monitor.
  • Ensure patients are correctly prepped for procedures and that needed information, such as history and physical (H&P), is timely.
  • Utilize critical judgment to analyze patient assessments and administer medications on all patients, including critically ill patients, and report abnormal information to physicians in a timely manner.
  • Perform hemostasis safely and properly with or without vascular devices.
  • Routinely enter patient orders and charges, checking for accuracy.
  • Provide care for critically ill patients, functioning independently in stressful situations.
  • Educate patients and families based on assessed needs, documenting education provided and keeping them informed of tests and treatments.
  • Provide clear patient instruction on what to expect during perioperative procedures.
  • Assist families to cardiology areas or cath lab areas by escorting when necessary.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safety.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • No experience required.
