Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Electricity courses at San Diego City College. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of the Electricity program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Electricity courses, including lecture and lab classes, in a variety of formats, including day, evening, weekend, and online classes.
  • Develop and implement curriculum, assessments, and instructional materials that align with the Electricity program's goals and objectives.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students, including grading and evaluation of student work.
  • Contribute to the development of the Electricity program, including curriculum development, program assessment, and program improvement.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide activities, including committee work, professional development, and community engagement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electricity or a related field, or Associate degree in Electricity or a related field with at least six years of professional experience in the field.
  • Two years of professional experience in the field of Electricity, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electricity or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Electricity courses at the community college level.
  • Experience with curriculum development, program assessment, and program improvement.

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality instruction and student support. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and staff to achieve the goals of the Electricity program.
