Job Description for Disaster Recovery Technician

We are seeking an experienced Disaster Recovery Technician to join our team. With at least 10 years of experience in the restoration industry, you will be responsible for conducting on-site assessments, leading mitigation and restoration efforts, and ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest standards.

This role involves working with businesses to restore their properties after fire, water, or other disaster-related damage. You will work directly with our clients to minimize damage, provide timely solutions, and restore their commercial properties efficiently.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Damage Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct on-site evaluations of commercial properties to assess the extent of damage caused by water, fire, smoke, or other disaster-related events.
  • Water and Fire Mitigation/Restoration: Lead and participate in the mitigation and restoration process, including water extraction, fire and smoke damage cleanup, structural drying, and odor removal.
  • Demolition & Cleanup: Perform necessary demolition of damaged structures and materials, ensuring safe and thorough removal.
  • Site Management: Oversee and manage day-to-day operations at the job site, ensuring the restoration process stays on schedule and within budget.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate specialized restoration equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers, water extractors, and thermal imaging devices.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Document the restoration process and progress, including detailed reports for insurance claims and client updates.
  • Client Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with commercial clients, providing updates and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines while on job sites to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in the restoration industry.
  • Expertise in water and fire damage restoration techniques, mold remediation, and related restoration practices.
  • Proven experience with demolition work, including safe removal of materials, debris, and damaged structures.
