Job Summary

The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for healthcare services. This position requires a strong understanding of medical billing and coding principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assigning accurate codes to medical procedures, diagnoses, and treatments
  • Preparing and submitting claims for payment, and resolving any discrepancies
  • Communicating with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing and coding issues
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans and insurance information
  • Staying current with changes in medical billing and coding regulations and guidelines
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding principles and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Medical billing and coding certification
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
