Bookstore Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and book-loving individual to join our team as a Bookseller at Barnes & Noble. As a Bookseller, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for customers, engaging with them, and sharing your knowledge of books to make relevant recommendations.

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of books, authors, and genres to provide exceptional customer service.
• Execute bookstore basics, including presentation, commerciality, section detail, localization, and sense of theater, to create a vibrant and inviting store environment.
• Leverage key campaigns, such as Our Monthly Picks and pre-orders, to hand sell and engage with customers.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and knowledge to support the store and provide customers with a great experience.
• Identify key titles and communicate with the store team to tailor the merchandise selection to reflect the community.
• Ensure the store is always neat and tidy, creating displays and maintaining a shoppable and inviting environment.
• Assist with events and community outreach initiatives.
• Protect company assets by adhering to all processes in controlling shrink, expense, and payroll.
• Model expected behaviors to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.

• Possess a passion for books and a strong knowledge of literature.
