Attorney III

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Attorney III to join our team in the Bay Area Legal Office. Under the general direction of the Deputy Chief Counsel, Assistant Chief Counsel and/or Attorney Supervisor, the Attorney III will study, interpret and apply laws, court decisions and other authorities in the preparation of moderately difficult and/or complex cases, opinions, and briefs.

• Prepare and present cases for trial and/or do a variety of transactional work.
• Particularly interested in candidates with experience in environmental and land use/real property law.
• Will consider Attorney.

The position is located in Oakland, Alameda County. While at their base of operation, employees will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial light. However, due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate. Will have to perform work duties in different court rooms throughout the state and therefore, this position does require travel.

• Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle.
• Applicants are required to take the CalHR examination for the classification and be reachable on the eligibility list.
• You must also have a California State Bar License.
