We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Healthcare Food Specialist to join our team at The Holgate Community. As a vital member of our food services team, you will play a key role in providing high-quality meals to our residents.

This is a full-time position working 32 hours per week, with a competitive salary range of $19.00 - $22.60 per hour, depending on experience.

About the Job

As a Healthcare Food Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to prepare and serve meals to our residents, ensuring that their dietary needs are met and exceeded. You will work closely with our dietitian and director of food services to develop menus and ensure that all food is prepared according to our high standards.

You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all state and local regulations, and being a team player who can work independently and collaboratively with others.

In addition to preparing and serving meals, you may also be required to perform other tasks such as ordering supplies, managing inventory, and participating in ongoing education and training programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve high-quality meals to residents, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all state and local regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the dietitian and director of food services to develop menus and ensure that all food is prepared according to our high standards.
  • Perform other tasks as needed, such as ordering supplies, managing inventory, and participating in ongoing education and training programs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong passion for providing excellent customer service and ensuring that our residents receive high-quality meals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with some culinary or nutrition-related experience preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to accurately count change and manage cash.
