About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team at Hospice of Santa Cruz County. The ideal candidate will have experience in music therapy, particularly with elderly and terminally ill patients.

Job Summary

The Music Therapist will be responsible for providing music therapy services to hospice patients and their families, including assessments, interventions, and education. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide music therapy services to hospice patients and their families in homes and facilities.
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation per agency policy.
  • Communicate with the Chief Clinical Officer and designees regarding urgent or unusual occurrences.
  • Conduct music therapy assessments and provide interventions that meet individual and family needs.
  • Educate patients, families, hospice staff, and the community about the role of music therapy and its benefits.
Requirements
  • Board certification in music therapy.
  • Master's degree in music therapy or a related field (preferred).
  • At least one year of experience in music therapy, preferably with elders/terminally ill patients.
  • Proficient guitar skills and a confident, pleasant singing voice.
Estimated Salary

$65,000 - $75,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience.
