Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team at Atlasbx. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of our safety operations and commodity areas, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines, regulations, and codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Day-to-Day EHS Operations: Assist the EHS Manager in the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management system processes, ensuring a safe and responsible work environment.
  • Develop and Maintain Strong Communication: Foster effective communication between all organizations within production operations, promoting a culture of safety and collaboration.
  • Assist with EHS Program Implementation: Support the development and maintenance of EHS programs, including Lockout-Blockout-Tagout (LOBOTO), Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, and more.
  • Perform Safety Equipment Checks: Conduct regular checks of safety equipment and maintain files of required documentation, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collect Data on Air Emissions: Gather data on air emissions to ensure compliance with air regulations, promoting a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.
  • Participate in Engineering and Industrial Hygiene Projects: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement engineering and industrial hygiene projects, improving workplace safety and reducing risks.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management, ensuring the success of our EHS initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with some college education preferred. AS or BS degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Ergonomics, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is preferred. Experience in a health and safety role in a private sector or regulatory environment is required.
  • Skills and Competencies: Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with supervisors and associates. Basic knowledge of safety system analysis and the ability to work effectively under pressure are also required.
Work Environment

The EHS Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level can be loud, and the position requires the ability to climb, balance, bend, squat, reach, grasp, and hand dexterity. The EHS Specialist must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
