We seek a knowledgeable, engaging, and hands-on Doctorate and/or Masters prepared nursing professional to join us as a full-time Nursing Faculty member at our Chesapeake, VA BSN campus.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction that facilitates students' achievement of course objectives, engage in scholarly and service activities to promote your professional development, and contribute to the success of the College and its students.
- Develop, implement, teach, and evaluate the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education program.
- Design, implement, teach, evaluate, and revise the curriculum.
- Lead simulation learning experiences in the Nursing Lab.
- Teach at least 36 credits annually, creating an effective learning environment that addresses contemporary issues in nursing.
- Serve as a mentor to faculty, adjuncts, and students, demonstrating leadership and commitment to student success.
- Recognize the role of a nurse educator and pursue continuous in-service/professional development opportunities annually.
- A graduate degree (Master's or higher) required; if not in nursing, a Bachelor's degree in nursing and a Graduate degree in a related discipline from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- A minimum of three (3) years experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university preferred.
- Holds a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.
- Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty preferred.
This is an on-site, in-person teaching opportunity with compensation starting in the $90k-$100k+ range depending on experience and education. Additionally, you will have access to benefits that support your growth and well-being.
