We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities- Obtain diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, providing immobilization devices, and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
- Use consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.
- Restrict radiation beams through proper and safe collimation, ensuring safe care for all patients.
- Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
- Process and reconstruct images using available methods.
- Maintain an orderly x-ray room, including ordering and maintaining proper and adequate supplies as directed by the head of the department.
- Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist providers when necessary in administering radiopaque mixtures to patients.
- Perform administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient instruction, maintenance of records, reception of patients, and other administrative tasks as required.
- Rend services and/or assistance to all patients depending on individual patient needs and abilities.
- Be responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, and be available for overtime as needed to provide continual quality patient care.
- Adhere to departmental policies, including Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
- Greets all patients upon arrival for their exam, utilizing A.I.D.E.T. standards.
- Perform daily clerical duties, including the use of EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, computer system, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by the hospital.
- Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care that is specific to those needs.
- Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
- Diagnostic Radiography License.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
- Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
